Tenix unveils its 12.7mm turret for M113s

Article Abstract:

Tenix Defence Systems of Australia has developed a new 12.7 mm turret for the Australian Army's upgraded M113 tracked armored personnel vehicles. The new turret features the Quick Change Barrel, a candlepower commercial spotlight, and a new electric drive to accomodate the additional weight of its applique armor, which can be fitted and removed in the field by two its crew. It has an elevation of +30 degrees and a depression of -10 degrees.

VISEM exercise mine passes design development milestone

Article Abstract:

The design review of the Visual Indicator Naval Exercise Mine (VISEM) that ADI Ltd is developing for the Royal Australian Royal Navy (RAN) has been completed in mid-2000. The VISEM, which provides real-time audio and visual signals of a mine strike, will be used by the RAN for mine warfare training and exercises. Its final pre-production stage includes qualification and specification testing and compliance trials over a six- month period.

ASRAAM starts captive trials on Australian Horner

Article Abstract:

The Matra BAe Dynamics Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) completed its first flight tests on the wingtip stations of a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F/A-18 Hornet aircraft during safety of flight assessments. The RAAF's Aircraft Research and Development Unit, which conducted the safety of flight assessments, claimed that the ASRAAM did not affect the performance of the Hornet.
