Testing serversE roles as experts & managers of tipping behavior action

Article Abstract:

The ability of servers to predict their own tips is studied, while drawing a distinction between the two roles of servers, i.e. as expert and as manager. Experts can comprehend the relation between several predictors and tip size and are able to predict the tip they are about to receive. As managers, servers can designate certain tip amounts and then manage the service encounter to realize their predictions. Research has thrown up the extraordinary ability of servers to predict tip sizes.

Development banking and technological development: a case study of Industrial Development Banks in the GCC countries

Article Abstract:

The significant role of Industrial Development Banks (IDBs) in advocating the quality of technological development is examined from the functioning of IDBs in the Gulf Co-operation Council countries. Fundamental steps that develop Industrial Development Banks as promoters of technological development are suggested.

Knowledge-intensive business services in transition economies

Article Abstract:

The increase in productivity in business services of transitional economies like Slovakia and Czech Republic is analyzed. It is concluded that the increase in productivity is due to knowledge-intensive operations rather than increase in employment.
