The Internet: a new era in customer service

Article Abstract:

High street retailers have to develop new strategies to compete against the growing interest in e-commerce. Some retailers have opened their own on-line service, whilst others are trying to improve the shopping experience by making it more interesting and offering additional services. Internet shopping is a form of home shopping where the customer orders an item from pictures of the goods, which are subsequently delivered to their home. But e-commerce is quicker and more personalized than traditional home shopping from catalogues.

Electronic commerce and international taxation: A square peg in a round hole?

Article Abstract:

The development the electronic commerce company (e-company) is studied from the perspective of tax strategy. An e-company is potentially a multinational company but without any geographical constraints or physical presence. Transactions between different ax jurisdictions may form conflicts with regulations developed to deal with other forms of business. The resolution of this conflict is investigated.

Understanding key determinants for successful virtual stores will provide important theoretical and practical implications for developing E-commerce strategies. A theoretical model for studying a wide array of issues involved in E-commerce strategies is proposed.
