The economy of CEZ in 1998

CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic), power firm, expects a net profit of 2.4 bil Kc in 1999. The company saw a net profit of 6.4 bil Kc in 1998, 3 bil Kc, 8.9%, more compared to 1997. The firm's proceeds for the sales of electric power to distribution companies amounted to 953 mil Kc in 1998, 0.7% more compared to 1997. A reason for the growth is an increase in selling prices for the companies. The price was 1,100 Kc per MWh in 1998. CEZ decreased sales to the companies by 1,848 GWh, 4.1%, to 43,591 GWh in 1998 compared to 1997.

The record production of Dukovany

Article Abstract:

CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic), power firm, produced a record of 13,588 bil kWh of electric power at its Dukovany nuclear power station (called JEDU) in 2000. The quantity is 1.7% bigger compared to 1999, when JEDU produced 13.357 bil kWh. The volume of Czech electric power exports increased by 168% to 11,157 GWh for 1-11/2000 compared to 1-11/2001. A majority of CEZ's power exports went to Germany, 79.4%.

The first Czech turbine to the US

Article Abstract:

Alstom Power (Brno, Czech Republic), engineering firm, has supplied a steam turbine to Minnesota Power (Cloquet, US). The turbine has an output of 27 MW and is intended for the combined production of electric power and steam. It is the first supply of a turbine to the US in the history of the Czech Republic. The turbine will be commissioned on 01 Jun 2001. The production of the turbine took eight months.
