The end of urban man?

Article Abstract:

Humans were seen as urban animals in 330 BC by Aristotle, though cities have since become much bigger than the 150,000 inhabitants that Athens held then, with modern Athens holding 3 million people, and Mexico City some 18 million. Poorer cities suffer from overcrowding, pollution and traffic congestion. Cities can provide work and can become prosperous through trade or finance. They can offer anonymity, tolerance, and education, as well as having a key political role in national politics.

Article Abstract:

Research into relatively high temperature superconductors spread to other disciplines outside of physics in the late 1980s. After IBM researchers Johann Bednorz and Karl Muller found an oxide that superconducts at 30 degrees K, Paul Chu and Maw-Kuen Wu's experiments upped the record to 90 degrees K.
