Hotel, casino stocks plunge

Article Abstract:

The value of hotel, casino and reservation service company stocks have fallen significantly in reaction to the terrorist attacks of September 11. A number of hotel chains have already announced postponements of renovation or expansion plans, and others have said that they will be reconsidering such plans. Casinos and hotels are reporting high levels of cancellations by tourists, and a decline in travel more severe than that accompanying the Persian Gulf War is expected since the threat of terrorist activity in the United States that existed then has now become a reality.
