Those south-eastern laggards: Romania and Bulgaria

Article Abstract:

Bulgaria and Romania remain economically impotent, while their other former members of the Warsaw Pact have achieved a measure of economic normalcy. Romania has at least its petroleum and size to fall back on. Bulgaria can hope for the $115 million in credit that the IMF is currently withholding.
