Airlines and airports are increasing security worldwide in a response to a foiled terrorist plot to bomb jetliners heading to the United States from London, England. Extra screening of baggage is causing delays and higher costs.

EU is set to boost security funding: plan calls for spending up to euro 2 billion annually to develop technology

The European Union is expected to adopt resolutions to increase spending on research for improving internal security by up to euro 2 bil per year. Primary beneficiaries would be national security and defense services entities.

Airlines fight pollution fee in EU plan
