Independent financial planners are a new market in Asia, springing up in Malaysia, Singapore, and India. Many planners, however, operate with the intention of making the most money off their clients. When choosing a financial planner, consider someone who sells products from a variety of companies, assuring that they are not solely intent on commission, and who will provide you with a long questionnaire in order to become more familiar with your finiancial needs.
