UK: CIS launches defined contribution pensions

The Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS) is to introduce defined contribution pensions to intermediaries, with plans to move into corporate group stakeholder pensions and AVCs. The move follows developments within the industry including greater interest in the introduction of the stakeholder pension, trends away from traditional pensions, and the experiences of Equitable Life.

Marks & Spencer Financial Services has been appointed by the British Healthcare Trades Association as its approved supplier of stakeholder pensions. This is for 17,000 individuals at 340 member companies. M&SFS stakeholder pension has an annual management charge of 0.7% and a minimum payment of GB[pound] 10.
