UK: EX-AUTIF CHIEF PREDICTS END OF WITH PROFITS

Article Abstract:

An ex-Autif director general, Philip Warland, believes that with-profits products will come to an end by 2004-2005. Warland says that it is unlikely that with-profits products can be revamped. A spokesman from the Association of British Insurers, Malcolm Tarling, has spoken out in favour of with-profits, although he accepts that transparency needs to be increased.
