UK: NEW TEST ROOTS OUT THE SMOKERS

Article Abstract:

A new test which can detect whether or not a person smokes could prove valuable to life and private medical insurance companies. To date, these companies have trusted clients to tell the truth when filling in applications for cover but this new test, which can even tell if a person is a heavy or casual smoker, could change all that. Invented by Dr. Graham Cope and developed by Mermaid Diagnostics, the test is expected to cost less than GBu 5 and is more accurate than the current alternative known as the cotinine test which has been available for ten years.
