UK: SCOTLIFE AND BRITANNIC MONEY LINK FOR MORTGAGES

Scottish Life Mortgages and Britannic Money have joined forces to launch a mortgage offering 2.5% discount for the first year, reverting to Britannic Money's standard variable rate of 7.49% for up to 75% LTV, 7.74% for a maximum of 85% LTV and 7.99% for a maximum of 95% LTV. For maximum LTVs of 95%, 85% and 80% the minimum and maximum loan sizes are GBu25,001 to GBu200,000, GBu200,001 to GBu300,000 and GB$300,001 to GBu500,000 respectively. The verdict from C & J IFA was that there are better deals on the market, with the catch being that many different standard variable rates were being used.

UK: Mortgage industry wants FSA to delay regulations

Article Abstract:

The UK mortgage industry wants the Financial Services Authority to postpone the implementation of a new regulation due to be introduced at end August 2002, as it fears players will not be ready. The Council of Mortgage Lenders wants lenders to have time to trial technology to be used to satisfy the regulation.
