British communications watchdog Ofcom will investigate competition in the country's pay television industry, which may be preventing consumers from getting the best choice or rates . C ompetition between the dominant British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC and rival Virgin Media is increasing.

Google, BSkyB plan online video deal

Google Inc. of the United States is to grow its online video business, YouTube through a licensing agreement with British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC of the United Kingdom. The deal with the British broadcaster also includes the licensing of Google Inc.'s email service.
