US Airways proposes to merge with Delta

US Airways Group is offering $8 b illion to acquire Delta Air Lines Inc. , which is is currently under bankruptcy protection. US Airways CEO Doug Parker is appealing directly to Delta's creditors, having been refused by the company's executives earlier.

Delta unveils its turnaround plan: strategy includes cutting 7,000 jobs, abandoning its Dallas-Fort Worth hub

Delta Air Lines presented its plan to avoid filing for bankruptcy. The strategy includes realignment of routes and restructuring of operations. The airline needs to reconfigure some of its $20.6 billion in total debt.
