Unilever, P&G wage price war for edge in India

Article Abstract:

Procter & Gamble Co. aims to gain share of Indian market, but finds itself in keen competition with Unilever's Indian subsidiary Hindustan Lever Ltd. Though the India-based subsidiary has seen its profits fall close to 50% due to a price war launched against it by Procter and Gamble, it remains confident that it can not only fight off Procter and Gamble's bid for the market, but that its business will emerge s trengthened .

Ahold report to cite two officials: Stock price slides on news; Argentine authorities open inquiry into possible fraud

Article Abstract:

Mark Kaiser and Tim Lee, executives of U.S. Foodservice Inc., Ahold NV?s subsidiary, will be blamed for inflating supplier rebates when Ahold produces an internal report. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating the accounting irregularities, and possible fraud is also being investigated by Argentina's officials regarding Ahold?s Disco supermarkets.
