Virgin Atlantic scraps plans for U.S. airline

Article Abstract:

Virgin Atlantic Airways has decided to forego plans to start up a domestic service in the US. UK-based Virgin Atlantic CEO Richard Branson stated that the company may still pursue the service once the US government eases regulations that confine foreign ownership. A spokesman for the airline stated that Branson is against the transaction that would grant him a mere 25% ownership of voting shares. Branson is currently urging the US government to cancel foreign-ownership restrictions on airline services.
