Upper and lower approximation models in interval regression using regression quantile techniques

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine a novel interval regression analysis based on the regression quantile techniques. Two interval approximation frameworks were proposed to analyze a phenomenon in a fuzzy environment. Results indicated that a trapezoidal fuzzy model can be constructed from the lower approximation model and the upper approximation model. Findings also showed that the interval regression framework can be determined based on the acquired main trend.

Modified simulated annealing algorithms for the flow shop sequencing problem

Article Abstract:

Two simulated annealing algorithms with a modified generation mechanism are proposed. They were applied to the m-machine and n-job flow shop sequencing problem to minimize makespan. Computer simulations on randomly generated test problems showed that the performance of the proposed algorithms is not as affected by cooling schedule options as that of the standard simulated annealing algorithm.

Interval priorities in AHP by interval regression analysis

Article Abstract:

The interval analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is reviewed for crisp data and the properties of the same are discussed. The proposed interval approach obtains a more accurate analysis of the lower and upper models with interval weights.
