Using radio to sell radio

Article Abstract:

The Radio Marketing Bureau has launched a marketing campaign touting the advantages of radio advertising. Called 'Radio - Picture the Possibilities,' the campaign is sponsoring an eight-week creative writing course for radio advertising writers. The organization has also launched a CD containing the best radio spots around the world. A buying and selling council has also been established that would bring advertisers, radio sales managers and ad agency staff together. The campaign also aims to improve the quality of radio advertising, solve problems in buying and selling radio spots.

Hospitals' commercial cures

Article Abstract:

Canadian hospitals have started to market themselves more creatively to generate much-needed revenue for new equipment and research. Despite this tendency, hospitals are being selective by screening ads for publications, accepting wall advertising that markets only healthy products and permitting only certain franchises to be set up in designated areas. In spite of criticisms for turning hospitals into marketplaces, the commercialization of hospitals is slowly gaining acceptance.
