V&B chases its American Dream

Article Abstract:

Vickers & Benson Companies Ltd. of Toronto's Chicago office officially opened on July 14, 1998, on the second floor of an office building about two blocks from the Golden Mile, the city's upscale retail center. Heading the 10-person operation is William Flynn, a veteran local advertising executive who once worked with V&B chairman John Hayter. Vickers & Benson Inc. of Chicago, IL, will reportedly handle US$20 million in billings for its fundamental accounts: the Canadian Tourism Commission and the Harris bank, a regional bank owned by Bank of Montreal.

Gray teaches with virtual agency

Article Abstract:

Gary Gray, the former founder and creative director of Carder Gray Advertising, has been giving guest lectures at Syracuse University's Ad Design Independent Study Program for the past 17 years. However, in the summer of 2000, Gray suggested that a 'real' advertising agency should be created where senior advertising students can improve their skills. The proposed agency was named OrangeAid, whose target market are charitable groups that do not have access to professional advertising groups.
