Venezuela's Chavez has emerged as a vital crutch for aging Castro

Article Abstract:

Cuba's Fidel Castro has found a major benefactor and heir apparent to the cause of derailing the U.S. agenda in Latin America, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez where the government of Venezuela has become the biggest financial supporter of Cuba, as Cuba is concerned about the rising debt to Venezuela's oil company. A Venezuela-Cuba nexus is being seen, which is broadening and deepening and which is not conductive to the promotion of democracy and human rights.
