Volvo reports pretax profit rise of 56%

Article Abstract:

AB Volvo announced that it posted a 56% increase in its pretax profits for the fourth-quarter of 1998. The company benefited from the rebound in its truck sales. Volvo posted quarterly pretax profits of 3.83 billion Swedish kronor ($485 million). During the same period in 1997, the company posted 2.46 billion kronor. Volvo's quarterly revenue reached 62.62 billion kronor, compared to 52.68 billion kronor during the same period in 1997.

Pretax profit at Volvo fell in first quarter

AB Volvo said that its 2000 first-quarter pretax profits fell, but that its earnings increased 13% in the same period. The company posted 1.89 billion kronor (230.7 million euros) in profits for the period.
