Article Abstract:

Cica, the second largest secondhand car dealer in France, aims to open around 20 new outlets or on a franchise basis, by 2003. Cica, part of Hong Kong Jardines group, proposes more than 80 different brand models ranging from FFr 50,000 to FFr 300,000, and has developed an Internet purchasing platform, Adis, which also helps with management and logistics solutions. For several years, automobile constructors have tried to promote and structure the secondhand sales divisions of their sales networks, but their market share in the French secondhand car sales market has not reached more than 30%. The annual secondhand car market in France represents almost 4.5mn units sold, compared to 2mn new cars sold annually.
