DENMARK: HYDRO-TEXACO TO LAUNCH INTERNET SERVICE

Article Abstract:

The petrol chain Hydro-Texaco is to increase the targetting of the Danish food sales market. In November, the company will introduce e-commerce services via the Internet, free of charge, at 20 petrol stations. The aim is to include 150-200 stations in the concept from the beginning of 2000. From start, customers will have to fetch the goods themselves. At present, only ISO offers Internet purchase services in the Copenhagen region, and the alliance Faellesindkob (Spar, Favor and Superbest) are planning to introduce such services. The major groups FDB and Dansk Supermarked have no concrete plans at the moment.
