Waiting times of a finite-capacity multi-server model with non-preemptive priorities

Article Abstract:

A finite-capacity multi-server model has been developed in an attempt to analyze the arrival and service times of non-preemptive priority classes. Through the use of first passage time analysis, it was established that arrival processes are identical with independent Poisson processes. The proposed model further outlines a recursive algorithm which offers potential applications in determining the steady-state distribution of numbers and queue length distribution of customer types in a particular system.

Analysis of a versatile multi-class delay-loss system with a superimposed Markovian arrival process

Article Abstract:

A novel computational method was developed to assess the performance characteristics of a multi-class single-server delay-loss system with a superimposed Markovian arrival process. The method was able to produce a new representation that deals with a linear combination of two matrix-geometric terms. The results obtained using the computational method were proven effective in analyzing the stream-dependent performance characteristics of a logical buffer.
