WestLB hires Wohanka in bid for expansion
Article Abstract:
Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB) has hired respected investment-management specialist Richard Wohanka to head the company's Asset Management, a new division grouping its money-making activities in France, Germany and the UK. According to Hans Offen, vice chairman of WestLB's board, the appointment of Wohanka underscores the bank's desire to be at par with other foreign banks, which are aggressively expanding to raise their individual portfolios. Wohanka will lead WestLB's expansion in Europe and abroad, particularly in Japan.
