Lufthansa reaches regulatory deal over Eurowings

Lufthansa has reached a compromise with German antitrust officials for its planned partnership with Eurowings. Both carriers will surrender routes and planes to European Air Express, a smaller rival.

Why Air France may risk saving Alitalia: tough overhaul needed for a buyout to pay off; Lufthansa withdraws

Article Abstract:

Air France KLM S.A. has issued a nonbinding letter of intent to make an offer for Italian air carrier Alitalia Linee Italiane S.p.A., while Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced it has abandoned a plan to make a bid. AP Holding S.p.A., which owns Italy's Air One, is now the only other competitor for Alitalia.
