BMW chooses site in East Germany for its new plant

Ousted CEO of Bertelsmann nails retail gig

Thomas Middelhoff has been appointed chief executive officer of German retailing giant KarstadtQuelle AG. The appointment marks a return for Mr. Middelhoff who was let go from media company Bertelsmann AG nearly three years ago. KarstadtQuelle is currently in restructuring and faces a challenging market for retailers due to Germany's high unemployment and low consumer spending.
