Vodafone moves into Mexico with purchase of 34.5% of Iusacell

Vodafone Group PLC has acquired a minority share of Mexico-based Grupo Iusacell SA for $973.4 million (1.02 billion euros). Iusacell is the second-ranked wireless carrier in Mexico.

Azteca president plans credit for wireless company Unefon

Azteca SA President Ricardo Salinas is planning to extend Unefon SA a credit facility that will be backed by the former. The credit facility is valued at $80 million (94.2 million euros).

NextWave obtains $2.5 billion to aid in debt financing

NextWave Telecom Inc. has received new debt financing from UBS Warburg as its comes out of bankruptcy protection. NextWave has secured $2.5 billion (2.74 billion euros) in debt financing from UBS Warburg.
