Wolseley enters Scandinavia by buying DT Group

Article Abstract:

Wolseley PLC of the United Kingdom is to purchase DT Group AS of Scandinavia for 1.5 billion Euros ($1.9 billion). The British plumbing and heating equipment company will take on 484 million Euros in debt in the deal. With the merger Wolsley PLC will break into the Scandinavian market.

RBS-led group moves forward with renewed bid for ABN Amro

Article Abstract:

A consortium of European banks headed by Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC has submitted a revised offer of $95.61 bil for Dutch bank ABN Amro Holding N.V. The renewed bid is larger than that made by U.K.'s Barclays PLC, and represents a premium of 13.7% to the value.

London hedge fund turns to Asia: others have found region fertile ground; two deals for RAB

UK hedge fund manager RAB Capital PLC is seeking to expand its presence in Asia. The firm has added approximately $1 bil-worth of Asia-invested assets with two acquisitions during the past year, bringing its total funds under management to $6.3 bil.
