Word of advice: diversify

Article Abstract:

Investment analysts are advising investors to diversify their portfolios to spread risk in the light of an increase in market downturns brought about by Asian the currency debacle. According to investment advisers, investors should try investing part of their capital in high-yielding deposits or money funds without abandoning mutual funds completely. Meanwhile, analysts advise that investors hold on to the majority of their capital already put into the stockmarket since the market's decline has raised its value.

Exports help diversify industrial structure

Article Abstract:

The growing emphasis on exports is stimulating major changes within Thailand's industrial structure. Manufacturing has taken over about 80% of Thailand's export output and companies have begun to emphasize on increasing the sophistication of their manufacturing systems. These industrial changes are in line with the Thai government's long-term goal of transforming the country into a premiere financial, manufacturing and service center in Asia.

Baht's basket should be maintained

Article Abstract:

Thailand's effort to keep the baht pegged to a basket of currencies, especially the dollar, must be continued. The arrangement is an essential instrument in the maintenance of the country's durability amidst political instability, as well as an anchor for the entire Thai economy. It is maintained by the Bank of Thailand, which has approximately $38 billion in foreign exchange reserves, to safeguard the baht.
