Yerevan equipment tender

Article Abstract:

Armenia is soliciting offers to bid for air cargo ramp handling equipment. The government is also about to choose an operator for its new air cargo terminal inaugurated in May 1998. The authorities say they anticipate announcing their choice by October 1998 or November 1998. The air cargo ramp handling equipment counts snow-clearing vehicles and tractors and will be used by local personnel who are presently handling the cargo terminal. The aircraft to be served include the Ilyushin-IL-76, Antonov, 747, DC-8 and others.

Cathay launches electric buses in Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

Cathay Pacific Airways and Associated Engineers Ltd has introduced the first commercial electric bus operation in Hong Kong. The move, which was aimed at servicing airline staff, comes in the wake of the policy speech made by Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa involving environmental protection and preservation. The new electric bus is a zero-emission electric vehicle which is the first to gain a vehicle licence and Type Approval from the Dept of Transport.

Mayflower sells GSE interests

Article Abstract:

Mayflower Corp's sale of its ground support equipment firms, Schopf Maschinenbrau, Dennis Eagle and Douglas Equipment, is the result of a business assessment conducted by Mayflower after its acquisition of the Dennis Group in 1998. Acquired for 31 million pounds sterling cash, the three firms only posted 1 million pounds sterling on 86 million pounds sterling in sales in the last 11 months of 1998.
