Yukos ads target banks backing Gazprom's bid

Article Abstract:

As six international investment banks prepare financing for OAO Gazprom's $13 billion acquisition of OAO Yukoil's Yuganskneftegas production unit, lawyers for Yukos shareholders are launching advertisements in Western newspapers aimed at dissuading potential buyers of Yukos assets. The ads will argue that the acquisition is the result of a forced sale and that therefore the investment banks are taking part in an act of illegal appropriation.
