Shaw Communications Inc of Calgary, Alberta, has launched a national agency review for its creative, strategic and media planning. The firm hopes to have four advertising agencies in its short list by Feb 2000. Incumbent agency In-House Advertising Group will participate in the review. The winning agency will be chosen on the strength of its creative abilities, focus on Shaw's customer retention, strategic thinking, retail marketing and brand-building expertise.

Fido 'look-alike' ads back

Article Abstract:

Microcell Solutions Inc of Canada is again promoting its Fido personal communications services network using the company's tried-and-true human- dog 'look-alike' marketing efforts. The Christmas ad campaign, created by Motreal, Quebec-based advertising agency, Bos, will run on nationwide television and will also have print and billboard executions. The company decided to return to the old campaign because of its previous success.

Donne new Cossette president

Article Abstract:

Philip Donne has been appointed president of Cossette Toronto and co- president of Cossette Montreal. He replaced Ian Saviel who has been named senior partner, corporate development, of Cossette Communication Group. Donne's appointment will take effect on Dec 11, 2000. He was chosen for the job because of his entrepreneurialism, management and marketing skills. Before joining Cossette, Donne was an executive at Kellog Canada.
