Cashing in on change

Article Abstract:

Marketers of financial services are becoming more consumer-oriented. Financial institutions are rolling out new convenience-based products and are beefing up their Web presence to snare more consumers online. Mutual funds, which in the past have almost exlusively focused on professional advisors, are now directly targeting consumers. According to AC Nielsen, the financial services industry spent C$388 million on advertising in 1998, up 13% from the previous year.
