$200 million rate cut by Peco

Article Abstract:

Philadephia, Penn.-based Peco Energy Co. has announced a plan to retain nearly all employees at its Market Street headquarters and cut utility rates by $200 million over the next four years. Peco, which is seeking approval for its $7.8 billion merger with Chicago, Ill.-based Unicom Corp., reported the plan to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

Peco's earnings soar, lifted by a warm May

Peco Energy Co. announced that its second-quarter earnings increased 80%, to $119 million, because it was able to sell more electricity at higher wholesale rates to other utilities and big energy users.
