Jury awards $150 million in Miss. fen-phen case

Article Abstract:

American Home Products Corp. been levied with a $150 million judgement in a lawsuit stemming from health problems associated with its diet drug fen-phen. The jury determined that the pharmaceutical firm concealed key data about harmful effects of the diet drug in awarding five persons $30 million each in compensatory damages.

New mailing machine gets stamp of approval

The automated Postal Center, similar to an automated-teller machine is self-explanatory and is meant to help customers avoid long lines at retail counter. It could handle about 20 percent of services, including packages being sent to foreign countries, due to restrictions abroad.
