Battery firm is shaken up by its new man in charge

Article Abstract:

Batteries, Batteries Inc.'s new CEO, Stephen Rade has begun cleaning house in its subsidiaries in an attempt to save the company's falling profits and poor performance. Batteries went through a number of CEOs before, Rade and other stockholders joined forces to have them removed as company performance continued to slip, eventually putting Rade at the helm. Rade, who started subsidiary Advanced Fox Cellular, which was acquired by Batteries, fired managers who weren't performing and promoted others based on initiative and production. Rade feels the new, youthful managers will have a fresher approach.

U.S. Steel in talks to acquire 3 rivals

Article Abstract:

United States Steel L.L.C. looks to acquire Bethlehem Steel Corp. Company officials say the acquisition, and two other undisclosed acquisitions, would consolidate the steel industry but not without the help of union leaders and 40 percent tarriffs on foreign steel for four years.
