Biggest U.S steel company to be sold

The merger of Dutch Steel Co. and International Steel Co. announced on October 25, 2004 would create the world's largest steel producer, with 1,65,000 employees, operations in 14 countries, and the capacity to produce 70 million metric tons annually. This merger is done to cut down the competition level and increase the production capacity.

Local owner to recast local steel operations

Article Abstract:

International Steel Group Inc. (ISG) purchased the former Lukens specialty-steel operations in Coatesville and Conshohocken from Bethlehem Steel Corp. The facility had been under 18 months of bankruptcy. ISG plans to revitalize the facility, cutting the workforce, and changing how the plants operate.
