Court OKs trustee for Allegheny

Article Abstract:

Creditors of Pennsylvania's Allegheny health system have received approval from the US Bankruptcy Court for their request that an independent trustee be appointed. The trustee will be charged with ensuring that Allegheny's profitable western-Pennsylvania assets will be used to help pay the systems $1.5 billion in debts. The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office filed objections to the appointment of a trustee, saying the nonprofit western hospitals should be made autonomous from Allegheny.
