Pa., N.J. hospitals leaders in markups

Article Abstract:

New Jersey and Pennsylvania hospitals have some of the highest markups in US on the care they provide. Hospitals markups as well as those by other parts of the health-care sector such as pharmaceuticals companies are a major factor in the rising cost of care, the increasing number of uninsured patients and the pricing practices.

Einstein to buy a Tenet hospital

Article Abstract:

The Albert Einstein Healthcare Network plans to buy Elkins Park Hospital, the 243-bed hospital in Montgomery County, from Tenet Healthcare Corp. of Santa Barbara, California, for $13 million. Einstein and Tenet officials expect to finalize the deal that would prove beneficial to both the organizations.
