Shipyard racetrack faces issues over traffic

Article Abstract:

Alan P. Hoffman, president of the Vitetta Group Inc., the architectural firm that is situated at old Philadelphia Navy Base, is in favor of building a racetrack along with slot machines in the neighborhood to attract more retail participation in the area. Major issues and public policy decisions have to be addressed in order to build the proposed racetrack and casino including traffic from the track that could interfere with the rail and truck traffic.

Special partners tax status reviewed

Article Abstract:

A proposed change in the Keystone opportunity Zone law would eliminate the special benefit for partnerships such as law firms. The tax breaks for law firms and other partnerships have caused unrests as the highest paid people would be exempted from state and local taxes, while the wages paid to associates, secretaries, and other staff would continue to be taxed.

Towers Perrin to remain in Phila.

Article Abstract:

The management consulting firm, Tower Perrin has renewed its lease at Center Square, Philadelphia after contemplating thoughts of moving its workforce to New Jersey. The decision of Tower Perrin to remain in Center Square would help in renovating the Center Square building across from City Hall.
