Activism unleashed and unconscionable

Article Abstract:

Activists' arguments which benefit society most of the time can run counter to society's interests when they become relentlessly antagonistic to a corporate sector like the drug industry that has improved the public's health and well-being for decades. However, it is argued that it is essential for drug companies to own their inventions and data to enable innovators to support sales, marketing and post-marketing surveillance activities, hence the compulsory transfer of proprietary inventions, technologies and data into the public domain constitutes a seizure of assets.

FDA on transgenic animals-a dog's breakfast?

Article Abstract:

The author feels that U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should consider a definite and scientific policy on transgenic animals and offer more thoughtful and scientific products for transgenic animals as the drafts from the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) about the regulation of transgenic animals reflect an illogical and torturous policy.
