Administration seeks 'blank check' for war costs: Senators

Article Abstract:

The senators on both the sides of the aisle accused the administration of seeking a blank check from the Congress to pay the military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. But rather than submitting a supplemental budget request, the Bush administration has requested a $25 billion 'reserve fund' so the services will not have to cover the war costs from their regular budgets.

Wynne pledges to boost defense tech funding

The demand by Michael Wynne, the Pentagon procurement official, for the increase in the funding for the technology programs in the Department of Defense (DOD) is discussed. The technology programs outlays is expected to be a minimum of 2.5% of total defense expenditure.
