Antonov: is it boom or bust?

Article Abstract:

Antonov is seeking to convince car manufacturers world wide to use its design of gearbox which is fuel efficient, cheap, compact and light. The company has been asked by a Japanese firm to fit the gearbox in a prototype batch of vehicles. The company will benefit greatly if the design becomes adapted world wide, but shares in Antonov will be worth little if the gearbox is not widely adopted. Shares in Antonov involve a risk for investors but there could also be good returns.

Finelist

Article Abstract:

Finelist sought to merge with Partco in 1998, but Partco refused this offer, and is instead merging with Unipart. The United Kingdom vehicle parts distribution industry is fragmented and in need of consolidation, and Finelist has been involved in consolidation through acquisitions. The company has a 10% stake in the market, and has potential for growth. Finelist is coming to the end of an investment program, which will allow some borrowings to be paid down.
