Army leaders urge 'Exponentially Better' tank armor

Article Abstract:

Brig. Gen. Roger Nadeau, the US Army's Program executive officer for ground combat systems, has urged for ways in which the Army can devise 'exponentially better' technology in order to enhance the survivability of the military's heavy tanks and fighting vehicles. A year into the Iraq war, vehicle survivability has become a major priority for the Defense Department, which is spending millions to put armor on its Humvees.

Korb: FCS tech unready, so slow the program

Article Abstract:

A former top Pentagon official has stated that the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program is yet to be proven and hence its development and eventual deployment has to be delayed. Lawrence Korb, a senior Department of Defense leader in the Ronald Reagan administration, has given his views on the Army's major modernization initiative and the inadequacies in the FCS technology.
