Audit Agency Okay's 'Telequalification' Rule

Article Abstract:

The Business Publications Audit of Circulations (BPA) has decided to accept telecommunications as a means of qualifying publication readership. Magazine publishers will now be able to verify their readership through telephone interviews, telegrams, or telex. This will enable publishers to qualify readers that they have not been able to attract. The change goes into effect in December 1984. Rules on how publishers are to use the telecommunications are being developed. Advertisers are suspicious of the new changes.
