Discovery of transdermal penetration enhancers by high-throughput screening

Article Abstract:

Particular mixtures of penetration enhancers developed by an experimental tool, in vitro skin impedance guided high-throughput (INSIGHT) screening that increase skin permeability to macromolecules 100-fold without inducing skin irritation. The studies showed the feasibility of using penetration enhancers for systemic delivery of macromolecules from a transdermal patch.

Shortening the treatment of tuberculosis

Article Abstract:

A diarylquinoline drug that is found to considerably reduce the time necessary to treat tuberculosis in mice is described. This drug acts on the ATP synthase of myobacteria and can kill dormant as well as actively growing bacilli unlike other antituberculosis drugs.
