EADS positions for bigger U.S. defense market share

Ralph Crosby, chairman, and chief executive officers of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. (EADS) North America stated that EADS North America's formation of a new defense subsidiary and its acquisition of Racal Instruments Group announced in September 2004 were two related steps in the company's campaign to become a major player in the U.S. defense market.

F-35 JSF draws lessons from auto industry

The Northrop Grumman has planned to use the model of the automotive industry for manufacture its portion of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), which can pop a finished car off the assembly line in about a minute. It is learning lessons from the auto industry by using robotics in its manufacturing process.

JSF makers prepare for 'One-A-Day' production pace

The goal of Lockheed Martin Corp. is to build 35-F Joint Strike Fighters at a full-rate production speed. One plane per one work day can be achieved when the complexity and complicated manufacturing requirements are fulfilled.
