F/A-22 Raptor needed to counter advanced planes in China: Analyst

Article Abstract:

A US military strategist stated that United States must secure large numbers of the cutting-edge F/A-22 Raptor fighter aircraft to counter advanced fighter planes, which is suddenly being purchased by China. It was criticized that Raptor program should be avoided, citing its hefty price of $150 million to $325 million a copy, depending on how the cost is computed.

Sikorsky already meets security needs for marine one

Article Abstract:

The Pentagon is considering bids from two manufacturers to supply Marine One helicopters. Competing for the contract is VH-92 made by Connecticut based Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. and the EH-101 produced by the British-Italian joint venture Augusta Westland. Sikorsky is the seasoned veteran, having supplied three models of the Marine One in the past.

Lockheed Martin disputes analysis favoring rival Sikorsky

A support in favor of Lockheed Martin's, the prime contractor and leader of Team US101, rejection of analysis favoring rival Sikorsky's VH-92, is expressed. It is argued that the President's security should only be entrusted to a LockHeed Martin's, as it has proven its integrity in the world's most challenging and dangerous aviation environments.
